Happy Homecoming

Everyone Loves a Parade!

It's always fun when the local high school has its annual Homecoming Parade.  Our school is very lucky to be right along the parade route, so we get to enjoy the festivities together!

We generally sit with our first grade friends.  This year, we had our picture taken together before the parade began.  Mrs. C and Mrs. D were even in the picture!  That doesn't happen very often!

The munchkins patiently awaited the first glimpse of the parade.

Is it coming yet?

Oh, my goodness...I see it!

Everyone waved as each float went by, hoping to have some candy pitched our way!

It was so funny to see the munchkins' faces as they realized that Father and Mr. B were in the parade too.

We so enjoyed watching as our school float came by...

especially when some of our junior high friends gave us extra candy!

But probably the most fun was gathering the candy when the parade was over!

WOW!
Look at that stash!

Our classroom basket was very full!
What fun we will have sorting, counting and fair-sharing!

Until next time...

Homecoming 2010

A Happy Homecoming!

We had a great time Friday afternoon at the Homecoming Parade. We shared our corner with the first grade and the preschool as we watched and waited for the festivities to begin.

Finally!  Here it comes!

A salute to Old Glory!  How precious is that?!

We were so excited when we finally saw Father.  (Or was it because we saw Betsy Ann?)  We had so much fun when our float came by.  We got to see all our junior high friends, plus Mr. B and they all had lots of treats saved just for us!

The munchkins were so patient as the candy accumulated...

...and then...

We filled our basket to the top!  It will be a fun job to sort, graph and count all the pieces come Monday morning.  Then, of course, we get to fair share it ALL and take it home!  YUM!

Until next time...

Giggles,

Mrs. D.
