St. Michael

Another Angel

After learning all about our Guardian Angels, we took a day to learn about some other very special angels...The Archangels.  The Feast of the Archangels took place over the weekend this year, so we added it to our week when we had some extra time!  But...because we squeezed this feast day in...we didn't have time to learn about all the archangels.

Our focus was St. Michael!

We read about St. Michael our Protector and learned his prayer.
We enjoyed devil's food donuts, too!

And we made shields of virtue with St. Michael's image.

St. Michael the Archangel
Defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil.
My God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do thou, of prince of heavenly hosts
By the divine power of God
Cast into hell, Satan
And all the evil spirits
Who prowl about the earth
seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Until next time...
Giggles,
Mrs. D.

Michaelmas

Celebrating the Archangels

We started our day the right way...with Mass to celebrate the Feast of St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael.  Then we spent our morning learning about the special jobs God gave each of them:  Protector, Messenger, and Healer.

Our craft centered on St. Michael.

A shield of protection with his image and a prayer that the munchkins are going to try to say each morning!

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wiles and wickedness of the devil.  Restrain him, O God, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin and destruction of souls.

St. Michael, pray for us!

Amen

Until next time...
Giggles,
Mrs. D.
