Celebrating Confirmation with our 7th & 8th Grade
One of the most wonderful things about our school is the beautiful bond of friendship that forms before between students of all ages, especially that littlest and the biggest! Our 7th and 8th graders love the little kindergarten munchkins...and we love them!
Well...this week was a perfect time for us to show them how much we look up to them because, this weekend, our 7th and 8th graders received the Sacrament of Confirmation. How beautiful! We thought we would make it extra special by visiting them today with cards & personal messages, cupcakes and a poem just for them.
Each munchkin made at least two cards, coloring or decorating a dove for the front and putting a special message inside.
We surprised the 7th and 8th graders during their religion class on Monday (thanks Mr. A) and one of our munchkins read this special poem to the junior high.
What Confirmation Means to Kindergarten
Yesterday was your big day
And we are proud of you.
But did you know that yesterday
Was a big day for us too?
We didn’t have to walk the aisle
Or shake the Bishop’s hand.
We didn’t get the presents
Or have a party with a band.
But we did get something special
Something we hope that you all know.
We got YOU, yes we got YOU
To guide us as we grow
We know that you will lead us
And we’ll look to you with trust.
And we just wanted to tell you
What your Confirmation means to us!
Probably the best part was passing out the cupcakes after the poem was read! Smiles, hugs and high-fives for all...
Congratulations junior high!
God Bless You!
Until next time...
Giggles,
Mrs. D.
