First Day of Spring

Spring Has Sprung

We have had the most wonderful March weather lately, so our "first day of spring" celebration actually felt like spring!  In Illinois, that doesn't always happen.

The munchkins had fun creating a great display for our back bulletin board, filled with spring writing & spring flowers.  We even had a special spring snack...
(imagine that!)

We started our day with the hard stuff...

We brainstormed a list of all things "spring".  It was a great list!  The munchkins used the ideas from the list to create their own paragraph about spring.  This paragraph included an introductory sentence, three details and a conclusion.

And they did it all by themselves!  Many of the munchkins added even more than three details.

We have fantastic writers.  Check out this work!

After that, everyone deserved a little break.  So we made some cute little spring flowers from patterned scrapbooking paper.  It was great practice cutting hearts.

They turned out very pretty!

We had girly flowers...

and not-so-girly-flowers.

And then we ate!

YUM!

Happy Spring!

Until next time...
Giggles,
Mrs. D.
