Under the Big Top

When the Circus Comes to Town

What an exciting day!

We all arrived Thursday morning to the hustle and bustle of circus performers preparing for a day under the big top...and it happened right in our own backyard.  Our parish / school was the host to the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus for one day!

After Mass, we all gathered outside the school in the back play yard to watch as the playground was transformed.

We were entertained by the "man on stilts", learning all sorts of fun facts about the show.

We got to touch a real lion whisker.  (No, Father Don didn't pull it out.  He found it on the ground!)

We enjoyed a sneak peek at all the animals that would be performing.

And we were enthralled as we watched the workers raise the tent.

Many of the munchkins, their families, parishioners and other community members came back out on Thursday evening for a night of fun.

And by Friday morning, it was gone...as quickly as it arrived.

But what an amazing memory!

Until next time...
Giggles,
Mrs. D.
