Little Angels Program

Little Angels

Our munchkins made absolutely perfect little angels and our Advent Program was just heavenly!

Everyone did such a nice job learning their lines from Luke Chapter 2 and the audience really enjoyed the songs and the Christmas poem.  It was a beautiful way to celebrate the coming of the King.

"...and suddenly there was with the angel a great multitude of heavenly hosts, praising God saying glory to God in the highest..."

Our Lady of Guadalupe

Build A Church

To end the second week of Advent, the munchkins learned the beautiful story of St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Our Friday was spent with this amazing story of faith, trust and miracles as the munchkins explored the colors and symbols of Mary in this beautiful vision so that they could create their own version of Juan Diego's tilma.

We began with the colors of Mary...traditional colors of the native Aztec people.

We added these lovely images to the tilma...

along with some paper roses.

Then we had the fun of adding tissue paper to add petals to those roses.

The finished products were so nice and a great reminder for the munchkins as they took them home to retell this story as we honor St. Juan Diego and approached the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The Feast of St. Nichlolas

Waiting for St. Nick

December is so full of beautiful opportunities to learn the lives of the saints and we began with a favorite today!  The munchkins had such fun setting out their shoes, making St. Nicholas ornaments and creating bishop miter hats!

The shoes went out into our tiny hallway!  What fun to have our shoes off in school!

All lined up and waiting...

for the treasures that St. Nick left!

The munchkins couldn't wait to make our St. Nicholas ornaments. These got to go right home today and so they could be put right onto everyone's Christmas trees!  (If they're up, that is!)

Then we had tons of fun making our St. Nicholas miter hats!

Of course, wearing them was even more fun!

We ended our day with a nice coloring page of this special saint.  When I asked the munchkins who St. Nicholas reminded them of, I expected to hear them all say Santa Claus.  Instead, the consensus was that he looked like St. Patrick!  Isn't that refreshingly beautiful!

 Happy Feast of St. Nicholas!

St. Nicholas, pray for us!
